A wide banner made up of three photos with a soft, warm-toned color palette. On the left, a woman stands alone on a quiet road stretching toward towering rock formations in Monument Valley at sunset. In the center, another woman is waist-deep in a peaceful, green thermal pool, surrounded by mountains and a building with white walls. On the right, a woman walks along the top of a golden sand dune, with rugged desert mountains behind her. In the middle of the banner, overlaid in clean serif font, is the blog title: “She Roams the Globe.”
A young woman sits on a large red rock formation in a desert landscape, wearing light blue jeans, a white hat, and a red floral crop top. She’s looking off into the distance with one hand shading her eyes. Behind her, a winding road snakes through dramatic red sandstone canyons, and mountains rise in the background under a clear blue sky.

    Iceland

Iceland is easily one of the most unreal places I’ve ever been — I’ve been twice now, and I’d go back in a heartbeat (with a few more layers next time, because summer in Iceland definitely doesn’t mean warm).

My first trip was a nine-day campervan loop around the Ring Road in July, where we chased waterfalls, hiked lava fields, and ate dinner at midnight because the sun just didn’t set.

I still haven’t seen the northern lights in winter, but that just means I’ve got to go back.

Volcanoes, glaciers, black sand beaches, steamy hot springs – Iceland is wild, quirky, and completely magical.

    My top Iceland recommendations:

A woman walks along a colorful rainbow-painted brick path toward a pale blue church with a mountain backdrop in a quiet Icelandic town.
    Seydisfjordur
A woman relaxes in a small natural hot spring beside a waterfall, perched on a grassy cliff overlooking the ocean in Iceland. A white house sits in the distance under a cloudy sky.
